SEND Family Support are always looking at ways to support our families and again we have listened to those who contact us.
We are now looking at ways to help SEND Children/Young Adults with SEND and their siblings over the Holidays.
So this Christmas Holiday we are going to hold a ZOOM event aimed to help SEND children and young adults to show off any of their talents they have. If you have any budding magicians, actors, singers etc please let us know. Alternatively if your SEND children/young adults want to to just join the event to watch and meet other SEND children/young adults and their siblings they are welcome to join.
Of course we will have some strict rules in place in order to protect the children that attend such as –
Parents will need to accompany their children (although you won’t have to be on camera, we need to know you there).
All attendees cameras need to be on so that we can see who is watching. If your children or young adults are having any issues, instead of turning the camera off please leave and re-join if you can.
So that any performers can perform without interruption we may have to mute some attendees, however we do want some interactions to show appreciation for the performers so would prefer the parents to manage this, as you know your children better than us and we appreciate everyone reacts differently.
If you feel it will help, please explain any traits your child might have that can be misunderstood, so we can be prepared and able to explain if needed.
We are fully inclusive but we still have to take into account all attendees so if any attendee is too disruptive to performers or offensive to anyone within the event we will mute or even remove them. However we do understand that if it is a trait of their condition and will do our best to keep everyone in attendance as happy as can be.
We may add further rules but only because we want all children that attend to enjoy as best as they can especially any performers. Our main aim is to run this event to help the children with the feeling of loneliness they may have, by being able to see other children/young adults and performances.
If this event is successful we do intend to do more but we may adapt it to suit attendees and the time of year.
